In a world that trains us to perform, put on masks, and self-protect, In Good Company is a bridge toward love, a returning to warmth, presence, and shared humanity.

A COMMUNITY ARCHITECT • A RELATIONAL DOULA • A MATCHMAKER + SOCIAL WEAVER • A CURATOR OF ROOMS • A HOLDER OF STORIES • A WARM LEADER • A TENDER REVOLUTIONARY

For as long as she can remember, Rachel Joy Barehl has been seeing people — catching glimpses of who they’re becoming before they can name it themselves. She pairs optimism with grit, creativity with discipline, and an uncommon level of care with a contagious sense of possibility. Conversations with her deepen easily; rooms tend to shift when she enters. Collaboration is her native language, and co-creation her favorite form of expression.

In a world that treats love as a problem to solve, Rachel wants to make it a practice.

As a matchmaker, photographer, and the founder of In Good Company and Feels Like Home, she is reimagining modern connection through intentional, human-centered alternatives to the burnout of dating apps. Her work lives at the intersection of intimacy, psychology, and creativity — helping people soften their defenses, regulate their nervous systems, and build relationships that feel steady, alive, and real.

Rachel’s approach blends research and intuition, hospitality and strategy. She invites people to slow down, listen closely, and move with boldness, clarity and play. Because healthy relationships are a form of generational wealth — strengthening individuals, families, friendships, and entire communities and that wealth allows us to be generous to others, rippling into our communities, cities and world.

As one coach put it:
“You are so creative, so deeply caring, and so fucking talented.”

A BODYWISE HEALER • A NERVOUS SYSTEM WHISPERER • A HOLDER OF EASE • A KEEPER OF CALM • A STEADY HAND • A TENDER ANCHOR • A GENTLE GIANT • A DEVOTED FATHER

Adam is a massage therapist, a nervous system whisperer, a steady presence in a loud world, and one half of the living, breathing heart behind Rachel’s work.

He has an uncanny ability to make people feel safe without saying a word. Grounded. Seen. Unrushed. His touch isn’t just physical — it’s energetic, emotional, and deeply relational. People soften around him. They exhale. They set down what they’ve been carrying for too long.

Adam believes healing happens slowly, relationally, and through attention. He is devoted to the body as a teacher, the present moment as medicine, and love as something we create through small, consistent acts of care.

Where Rachel tends the architecture of connection, Adam tends the ground it stands on.

Together, they practice what they preach: repair, mutual accountability, laughter, devotion to curiosity, and the holy, ordinary work of choosing one another — again and again.

If Rachel is the spark, Adam is the hearth.

And together, they have helped create a soft place to land for twelve children — from infants to teenagers — through foster care, adoption, and cultural exchange. They make a home in the truest sense of the word.

“Talking about my personal life, and what I wanted it to be (and not be), felt easy and natural. Rachel was encouraging yet realistic—no upsell, no hype—just genuine enthusiasm and fresh thinking.”

Collaboration is at the heart of everything I do.

Matchmaking is not a solo pursuit — at its core, it’s a collective one. Behind every introduction lives a quiet constellation of people: peers, mentors, creatives, healers, entrepreneurs, and fellow matchmakers who share resources, insight, and a deep devotion to helping others find aligned, lasting partnership.

I’m plugged into a global web of relationship professionals, community builders, artists, coaches, authors, therapists, founders, farmers, parents, mystics, and everyday magic-makers. These are the people I turn to for perspective, collaboration, referrals, wisdom — and the occasional gentle nudge forward.

Our connection to one another makes the work sharper, safer, more intentional, and more alive.

From conferences in New York, to late-night Uber rides with other matchmakers, to training rooms I somehow found my way into (including Rachel Greenwald’s in La Jolla), to becoming a regular presence in the Matchmakers Alliance — and countless gatherings around kitchen tables, campfires, and living room floors — I’ve had the honor of learning and building alongside some of the most generous, brilliant humans I know.

And if I’m not the right fit for you, I won’t leave you stranded. I will help guide you to someone who is. Because this work is not rooted in competition.

It is rooted in care.

When connectors collaborate, people don’t just find love — they find belonging. And the world heals, a little at a time.
